Survivor

I never knew how stupid women can be when being led by a man. I can't believe those girls told EVERYONE IN THEIR TRIBE WHO THEY VOTED FOR!

I will say that I really liked Scout's comment at the final vote: "Good luck finding a man that will put up with you."

ME-YOW!

Rumors are true part 2

Well, the rumors about a new opportunity for me are true, but I can't say anything until the formal announcement is made on Monday. So y'all are just gonna have to wait!

Hee!

Rumors are true

Well, the first part of the rumors are true. A colleague got Trumped (fired) today. Always an uncomfortable day when that happens...

Rumors

This is going to be an interesting week. I have inside information that something not so good is going to happen to a colleague, and something very good is going to happen to me. As it is a rumor, I will wait and see what happens, but I am hopeful that the good things will happen. Sorry for being vague, just don’t want to jinx myself.

On the home front, Scott made me a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner – with goat cheese, tomatoes, and basil from our kitchen window. Ohhhhh my it was good!

Recouperating

I feel a little better today. Scott and I watched Open Water last night. I am not a big fan of the ocean, not knowing what’s down there scares me. Over all the movie left me feeling…..sad. And disappointed in the female character.

Ow!

Back….stl…..hurts……more…..ltr…

Ooch!

My back has been hurting all week, since I stayed with Scott at Caryl-Rose’s last weekend. Today I was heading into town to have lunch with Scott, and I saw the bus coming and kinda jogged to get it (‘cause us fat girls can’t really run) and I felt a snap, and wanted to die. Now my back is killing me! Ugh! Ben Gay, I love you…

(Yes, I know, I’m getting OLD!)

:(

A friend passed away yesterday. Give your loved ones a hug, because you never know how long you will be able to.

C is for cookie

Through Scott, I have recently discovered these. My favorites are the Ginger O's, but I like the other ones as well. I also like the spaghetti sauce and salsa. In fact, they make enough products for an entire meal! Yum!

The jerk store called - they're running out of you!

I spent the evening watching the finales of Big Brother 5 and The Amazing Race. I was pleased with both outcomes, but mostly glad Colin and Christie came in second in AR. It was good karma for Colin, and should have been a lesson to Christie to choose her mates more wisely.

Sheesh, what a jerk!

Oops, my @ss....

How is it that Britney Spears can get married TWICE since I got engaged a little over a year ago?

She's right. She's NOT that innocent.

Ohana Day

If you don’t know what that means, you need to watch this.

Scott and I spent most of the day with family. We went to his brother Patrick’s house and met our new niece, Kaylyn, who was born on September 10th. We also looked at Alecia’s wedding album (very nice!).

Then, it was back to The Dog. Scott been dog-sitting since August for a good friend whose husband is very ill. It has been tough but when your friends need you, you do what ever you can to help.

Happy Birthday, Chipotle!

I went to the mall today and picked up my new kitty! I also got her a new outfit for "school", some jammies and a robe. We had tons of fun! We also went here and got lunch - we had never been before, and it was goooood!

Thanks again, Tom and Angie!

More work...

Blogrolling was not working so I had to mess with my HTML. Now, I can put my family blogs in whatever order I want! Yay! (Hey, it's MY blog. Don't like it? Get yer own!) Hee...

Trumped!

How dumb was this guy? To be fair, I think once he gave up his "immunity", The Donald really pushed to get him out. It was clear how stupid a move Donald thought that was - as he was practically salivating - and Ivana should not have been surprised at the outcome. In fact, her showing such surprise (and remorse) made her look weak. Just goes to show, no one is indispensable!
Survivor, on the other hand, was interesting, but not very dynamic, for a season opener. The way they have been promoting the show, it was clear their location was going to be on an active volcano - I was waiting for it to erupt and threaten the players' "camp sites". It's so nice seeing the women beat the men - and it's always at an event that involves balance.

Kitty at work

I have added a spot on my Blog to include blogs of family members. They are listed in Alphabetical Order, so let's not start a family snit, shall we? Hee...

If anyone else has blogs that I am not aware of and you want me to list them, let me know.

Good news and Bad news

The other day when I was home sick, I was laying on the couch (trying not to barf) when I thought I saw a mouse. It was hard to tell, because I was groggy and feverish. While I had my eyes peeled towards the place I thought I saw it, I saw other movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked and looked but I couldn't see if there was a mouse, where it could have run to without me seeing it.

So, yesterday after work, I stopped here and got some glue traps. I put them where I thought I saw the mouse and in a few other places. Welll....

Scott was by today (He has the day off) and it turns out I was not hallucinating. That's the good news. The mouse was caught in the trap I set where I thought I saw it. That's the bad news.

Yeesh.

In other news, Scott, you're my hero!!!

Better!

I'm back at work! Waah!

I'm thinking I may be sending out resumes soon. It's time for me to start acclimating to life in Boston. Especially now that the weather is turning.

Also, hello to an old friend. You know who you are. :)

Sick Kitty

Called in sick today - going to go rest on the couch and try not to barf.

No, I did NOT have french fries for dinner from my new deep fryer.

*ahem*

Finally, Susan's clean!

I washed my car today. She was dirty dirty, dirty! Other than that, today was a mostly leisurely day. Mom bought me an ice cream - my payment for doing the lawn. Hee!

Also, my sister in law has recently resumed her blog. Go check it out!

New Toys!

Today I mowed Mom's lawn. But before I did that, we went shopping, our usual when I come home. I got this for me and this for Mom. Scott is trying to convince me to make him these. Uh, no.

I also got to ride in Dick's bucket loader and clean out the gutters. Fun! (not!) But at least I didn't have to get the ladder out and spend a half hour going up and down. (I still kissed the ground when all was said and done.)

Oh, to be a girl

I went to the store last night to buy some new jeans. Of course, I'm not the greatest at planning ahead, so I was all dressed up for work - pantyhose and all. So I'm thinking, "Drat. I have to try on jeans with pantyhose ('cause I'm THAT lazy!)! But then I figured, "It's 5:30 PM, who's going to notice if I don't put my pantyhose back on, I'm just going from the dressing room to the register to the car, what's the big deal?"

So I put them in my purse.

Guess what I just found, while looking for change for the diet coke machine?

Eww.

How YOU doin'?

I watched the new Joey show last night. I liked it. My brother Danny is like a smarter version of Joey to me. He's got that cute grin, a way with women, and has worked a plethora of interesting jobs in his 36 years. Right now he's on his way to Florida to run cable where Charlie hit so bad. He stopped at my brother Tom's house last night on him way there. While I was talking to him on the phone, he asked me to hold on, he wanted to call Mom so we could have a 3-way with her.

Okay, now I need to call my therapist.

Jealous much?

Yep, I'll admit it, I'm jealous!

My sister and her husband (and daughter) closed on their new house today. Congrats, guys! Send me your new address!

In other news, if you are wondering just who the heck I am and what I look like, here is a photo of me.

Tuesday, September 07, 2004

Ugh!

I refuse to talk about work!

So today I got a present from my brutha(and sistah in law!) Yay! Next sunday, I am going to go here and get a kitty! Yay! I will try to pick out the Flopsiest Kitty of them all. She will be named Chipotle. Thanks, guys! Love you!

Phooey!

Today is my last day of vacation. Blah!

All in all, I had a very nice week. I got a lot of stuff done on my project (Scott, don't click on this) and I am feeling well rested and calm. Scott will be going back to his dog sitting job tomorrow also, so I am doubly sad! Waah!!!

Sunday, September 05, 2004

Happy Birthday, Brutha!

Hope you have a great day, Tom!

In other news, there IS no other news! Still on vaca, still having a lovely time, still eating WAY too much watermelon! Hee!

Let's try this again...

Today Scott and I went to his friend Jim's house again. His friend Tom was there also, and we all delighted in harassing Scott about the Village Incident (see Aug 28).

We also watched a few episodes of MXC. For those who don't know, it is an old Japanese show that has contestants reenacting the stunts in an old video game (Tasheki's Castle). But the real genius of it is the voice overs. You really have to pay attention, but it is worth it.

Friday

One of the nice things about living in Southie is the beach. Normally, going to the beach was an ordeal, including a 45 minute drive. Now, all I have to do is put on my flip flops, grab my towel and chair, and walk across the street.

This is what I did this morning. Then, we went into town and put our tootsies in the reflection pool. Ahh.....to be on vacation...

Boston Public Library

I love this place. Not only it a convenient place for me to have a potty break while Scott and I are carousing around the city, they have great books! I found a bunch of needlework books and got a few great ideas. Ah, if only I could afford to live a life of craftiness....

Wednesday, September 01, 2004

Happy Birthday to me!

Yep, it's my birthday! I'm 35....uh, I mean, 29.

Had a very nice day, being crafty and getting pampered. Mom called to wish me a Happy day, my brutha called for the same reason, and Scott made me macaroni and cheese with bacon on top. Huhhhh........bacon........

Plus, I got presents! Yay!
